Kuulet monia väitöksiä LCHF ruokavalion terveydellisistä eduista. Norjalainen sydänlääkäri ja tutkija esittää 10 jotka perustuvat tieteellisiin tutkimuksiin.
1. LCHF auttaa ylipainoisia pudottamaan painoaan (1-16)
2. LCHF sätää ruoanhimoasi ja tuloksena syöt vähemmän (10)
3. LCHF pienentää makeanhimoasi (17)
4. LCHF nostaa HDL (hyvää) kolesterolia ja vähentää pieniä tiheitä LDL kolesteroleja (16.18-25). Näiden muutosten katsotaan olevan yhteydessä pinentyneeseen sydän-ja verisuonisairausriskiin. (26)
